Tutoring options: You can teach 1-1 or a group of students. The maximum number of students in a group is 10 students and these spots are filled on a first come, first served basis.

Tutoring requests: Generally speaking, tutoring requests are made up of lessons. The duration and frequency of the lessons vary depending on the subject matter and progress made. You may offer one-time lessons for students who need help with a specific assignment or exam, or offer ongoing lessons to help students build a strong foundation in a particular subject that could span days, weeks or months.

There are a few ways that tutoring requests are made:

  1. Admin may send out tutoring opportunities for tutors to indicate their interest.
  2. Students may book lessons by selecting available time slots within a tutor's calendar.
  3. Students may submit specific tutoring requests using the Tutoring Request Form.
  4. You can submit a Tutoring Intent Form, indicating your intent to facilitate a tutoring request that is made up of lessons that may span a few days, weeks or months.

Tutoring Intent Form:  You can use this to submit specific requests to teach something that may not currently be offered. It can be in any subject and is typically made up of lessons spanning a few days, weeks or months, it is usually put together for a group of students.

Reports: After lessons, you can provide an overview of the progress made and student performance for parent/student review.

Tutoring Resources: The platform allows for you to upload your teaching materials using various files and content for lessons. In addition, you can create, administer and assess various assignments for students. Tutors determine the content they want to use to tutor each student and are empowered to adapt to individual student’s needs. Tutors are not restricted by delineated cookie-cutter lesson plans.

Tutoring Dashboard: The platform is intuitive for all users and has a user guide located in the top right hand of your dashboard that explains the platform features - with most articles having accompanying short videos and or screenshots for our more visual users. Within your dashboard, you see your assigned tutoring requests (My Jobs).  Tips for Getting Prepared:

  • Be prepared. Show up early before your scheduled tutoring lesson start time.

  • Set up your computer/laptop in a quiet, clutter-free area.
  • Dress appropriately.
  • Know each student's name.

  • Speak with clarity and concision.
  • Be confident.
  • Communicate to your students that you are fully vested in their success!
